Visualize to Actualize!

Visualization is training your imagination to create mental images of what you would like to achieve, about what goals you would like to accomplish. It is a practice based on neuroscience to prepare the mind and body to what you want to happen. The science behind visualisation is about the neural patterns of your brain. The more you visualize something, the more you create neural patterns as if you had actually done or experience it already. You have your brain send a signal to your body on how you envision your goals. What you see, how you feel, etc. and your body will receive this image as if it were a reality already as it does not make the difference between a real image and a made up image. You are creating the motivation within yourself, and your actions will be more easily aligned with your goals. It will support you in achieving better results and boost productivity. This makes visualization a powerful tool in achieving your goals.

Ready to start visualizing?

The practice is often used in combination with meditation and mindfulness. It is recommended to, when start visualising, go to a quiet place, make yourself comfortable and close your eyes. Take some deep breaths, calm the body and start thinking about what you would like to achieve. Think about what environment you are in. What colours do you see? What smells do you smell? What are you wearing? Who are standing next to you? What do you see in front of you? What do you hear? How do you feel? Can you connect with the emotions you will be feeling once you have accomplished this goal? I would suggest to do this practice at least once a day and don´t be afraid to take your time and try to visualize as many details as possible. If you have a busy agenda no worries, 5 to 10 minutes will also do! Good luck!!
